Loving Kindness, also known as 'metta' meditation, is a practice where we focus on cultivating feelings of goodwill, kindness and compassion.
This meditation focusses on sending unconditional love to ourselves and others. Those who regularly practice Loving Kindness are able to increase their capacity for forgiveness, connection to others, self acceptance and more.

When you are kind to others, you are able to empathise with them more. However, before you offer kindness to others you need to show kindness, understanding and compassion towards yourself. Within the 'loving kindness' meditation you will notice that it begins with asking you to show kindness towards yourself, to a loved one, to a stranger and to somebody who is problematic for you in one way or another.
